When existing client Zobel North America needed to rebrand, they knew the best place to start was at Square1.

The Brief

Industrial coatings experts Zobel North America had been a long-standing client of Square1. The company was the North American distrubutor of the Zobel product range. However, as they grew Zobel NA found that they needed to branch out beyond the Zobel product range in order to offer a more comprehensive service to their clients. As such, a rebrand was in order. Zobel NA was to become NuCoat, and NuCoat turned to Square1 for support in rebranding and launching their new identity.

The Solution

Square1’s first priority was in creating the corporate identity for NuCoat. This would form the basis for all other collateral moving forward, and needed to be bold, modern and progressive. Once complete, the next step was in creating corporate stationery and branded assets. For NuCoat, this included business cards, letterheads, Microsoft templates (Word and PowerPoint), email signatures, email newsletter designs, event booth designs and of course a brand new responsive website. As a company offering industrial coatings and finishes, the key element throughout all these assets would be the use of colour. More specficially, vibrant, bold colours.

Square1 provided three different web designs for the NuCoat team to consider, from a “playing it safe” option that was similar to their previous Zobel North America site, to an incredibly bold, visually striking design (and one that sat somewhere in between). Thankfully, NuCoat chose Square1’s favourite, opting for the bolder, more progressive design. The website homepage featured a full-screen background video of vivid-coloured paint in motion, and this theme was carried throughout the rest of the site and branded collateral.

The Results

NuCoat were delighted with the results that Square1 delivered. The new corporate identity helped to establish a real point of difference in their branded assets, and a striking first impression for potential customers.
